Arts & Culture
A new immersive art space with holographic moon rooms, upside-down trains and 60+ mind-bending installations opens on Broadway on 22 November.
If you're tired of the same old gallery experience, Mind Games: Art Alive might be exactly what you need. Opening 22 November at 154-160 Broadway in Chippendale, this independent art space brings together holographic projections, optical illusions and hands-on installations that challenge how you see the world.
What's Inside
The space features 60+ installations from more than 15 artists across two levels. You'll need 60-150 minutes to see everything, with highlights including:
The Holographic Moon Room – a 3D projection space that transports you to a surreal lunar landscape.
Levitation Station – an upside-down train illusion that redefines the laws of gravity.
The Movie Magic Room – step behind the scenes to see how cinematic sound and illusions come to life.
There are mirrored mazes, perception puzzles, and multisensory pieces involving smell and sound. The gift shop even has musical lollipops that engage your sense of taste and rhythm.
The Artists
Featured artists include Australian film industry sculptor Hayley Egan, Ngarabal and Gomeroi multimedia artist Jeremy Worrall, and Akiyoshi Kitaoka, a Japanese psychology professor whose optical illusions are famous worldwide.
