Inner West Guide is a free weekly newsletter that helps locals discover what's on across Sydney's Inner West, from gigs and markets to new openings and community events.
We hear regularly from event organisers, venues, businesses and community groups who want to be featured. This page explains how we work, what we can help with, and what we don't currently offer.
If you're running a local event, workshop, festival or community activity, you're welcome to submit it for consideration.
Events are selected based on:
We review all submissions, but can't feature everything — it depends on local relevance, timing, and how much else is happening that week. Details are fact-checked before publishing, but events can change, so readers are always encouraged to confirm with organisers.
We cover live music across the Inner West and aim to keep gig listings simple, accurate and useful.
If you're submitting a gig, we recommend using the quick form. It's designed for bands, venues and promoters and only asks for the essentials.
Opened something new in the Inner West, or spotted a local opening worth sharing?
We cover new cafes, bars, shops, studios and local services — places like new bakeries, bookshops, yoga studios, bottle shops, or anything locals would genuinely want to know about. Inclusion depends on local relevance and timing.
Inner West Guide occasionally collaborates with councils, community organisations and local initiatives where there's strong alignment with our audience and values.
Inner West Guide doesn't offer paid advertising or sponsored editorial. If we collaborate with organisations in future, it will always be clearly disclosed and community-focused.
If you're exploring a collaboration that supports the local community, you're welcome to get in touch.
Inner West Guide occasionally receives media releases and announcements relevant to Sydney's Inner West.
Press releases may be considered where they are:
We review all media releases but can't guarantee coverage. All content decisions are made editorially.
Inner West Guide is independently run and curated. We don't charge for listings, and we don't publish paid placements disguised as editorial.
If something appears in the guide, it's because we think locals will genuinely find it useful or interesting — not because someone paid to be there.
