🏠 Home of the Week 🏘

18 Lancelot Street Concord exterior

Built by Charleston Homes on a 797sqm block, this Tuscan-inspired house has arched windows, wrought iron detailing and a stone-island kitchen with a walk-in pantry. French doors open from the dining room to a 10m pool bordered by clipped hedges and cypress trees. The master suite has dual walk-in robes and an ensuite with a freestanding bath.

If this were ours, you'd find us by the pool all day, vino in hand, fully living out our Under the Tuscan Sun era.

📍 5 bed / 3 bath / 4 car / 797sqm approx.

Vampt Vintage Design Showroom Newtown

Image courtesy of Vampt Vintage Design

Vampt Vintage Design moved from Surry Hills to Newtown in April, now trading from King Street. The team calls the timing "divine intervention": notice on their old space landed the same day as a message from the new building's owner. Vampt has restored furniture since 2001, growing from lamps and lampshades into a mid-century importing business sourced mostly from Denmark, Italy and Brazil. Its upstairs gallery has now launched, available for hire and workshops, with a shipment from Italy due in the coming months.

Dark Side of Beer Festival

The Inner West Ale Trail's new winter beer festival runs across all 15 breweries for four days, with exclusive dark brews, tap takeovers, surprise collabs, brewery tours and food specials. General entry is free. At Bracket, Mixtape, Kicks and Sauce, you can watch (or try) beer poking: an old German trick where a red-hot iron rod gets dunked straight into a dark beer, browning the sugars until a thick, toasted foam rises to the top. Entertainment includes roaming Shanty Club performances, DJs, line dancing, jazz, live bands, Christmas in July and a community choir singalong led by Elana Stone at Young Henrys. Two nights are ticketed: The Meltdown's jazz set at Heaps Normal on Friday, and a Bar Copo x Heaps Normal winter party there on Saturday.

📆 Thu 23 Jul to Sun 26 Jul
