🔥 Chef Timothy Cassimatis Brings Authentic Greek Barbecue to Marrickville 🔥

Olympic Meats Marrickville

Chef Timothy Cassimatis has opened Olympic Meats in the backstreets of Marrickville, bringing his take on Greek grill houses to the Inner West. Drawing from his vast experience, Cassimatis offers charcoal rotisserie meats served as souvlaki plates or wrapped in wood-fire pita. The menu also features family recipes like 'Olympia's Spanakopita Circa 1961,' named after his grandmother. With a deliberately stripped-back interior of galvanised steel and mosaic tiles, Olympic Meats offers fast, casual service with no pretence. Now open for walk-ins and takeaway at 12 Dudley Street, Marrickville.

Visit their website or Instagram for trading hours.

🛝 Park Picnic @ Pioneers Memorial Park Leichhardt
This park on Norton St offers plenty of room for kids to run around, ride bikes or scooters, and spread out a picnic blanket. The playground itself is unique—sparking community debate when first built—but has since become a local favourite. With shade sails covering the play equipment, plenty of tree coverage nearby, and accessible toilets, it’s a comfortable spot for families to enjoy. It’s within walking distance of the heart of Norton Street, with plenty of options to grab some lunch. It’s a 7 minute walk from Leichhardt North Light Rail Station, buses service the area and street parking is available.
