🎂 We Turned Two. Next Week, We Celebrate.

Inner West Guide birthday cake with a gold number 2 candle

Inner West Guide turned two back in August, and I celebrated pretty quietly. I’ve since decided two years deserves a proper celebration, so watch this space next week!

Since that first edition in August 2024, I’ve sent nearly 100 weekly guides and shared thousands of local events. I’ve also put together guides to the school holidays, Kids Eat Free deals and Halloween, and helped plenty of local businesses get found along the way.

Two years, many late nights, and I’ve loved every minute. Time to celebrate.

The Inner West doesn’t stop between Fridays, and neither do I. Follow @innerwestguide for local news and new events through the week.

🏠 Home of the Week 🏠

Kingsland is a c1918 double-fronted Federation home, with to-die-for leadlight windows and marble fireplaces. The new extension out the back has a sunken living room with 4.1m ceilings. The kitchen is green Verde Luanda marble, and there’s a bar with an 80-bottle wine fridge. Outside, the pool gets its own bathroom, and there’s an outdoor cinema with surround sound. Marrickville Road is a short walk away. Just mind the step on your way back from the bar.

Made in the Inner West Festival artwork from the Inner West Ale Trail

Thirteen Inner West breweries have each teamed up with a local business on a one-off beer, from a bread pilsner with A.P Bakery at Grifter to a pizza brown ale with Epic Pizza at Hopsters and a Mapo Gelato collab at Heaps Normal. Collect stamps in the festival passport: 10 breweries earns a free tote, and all 13 adds a stubby holder.

On Saturday from 12pm, Ben Lee plays free mini gigs with Ex-Citizen at Heaps Normal, Binsad at Sauce and Dr Spaceman at Mixtape, before a full-band finale at Young Henrys. Capacity is limited, so get in early.
