🍺 Two Inner West breweries are calling last drinks 👋

After a decade in Camperdown, Wayward Brewing will close its Gehrig Lane taproom on Sunday 31 August 2025. The team says the brand will live on through the Powder Monkey Group — but now’s your chance for one last pint, with a farewell weekend planned for Saturday 16 & Sunday 17 August.

Meanwhile, White Bay Brewery in Rozelle will leave its Mansfield St home by September 2025, shifting production to Melbourne’s Hawkers Beer while eyeing a new, smaller Sydney venue with a focus on hospitality.

Big changes, but not goodbye forever. Just time to make the most of your next visit.

Six new Special Entertainment Precincts launched last weekend across Balmain, Rozelle, Dulwich Hill, Marrickville and Leichhardt. Venues can now trade until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays, with outdoor dining until midnight. All main street businesses can also host small-scale live performances without development applications - meaning more spontaneous gigs and events.

Following the success of the Enmore precinct, this makes the Inner West Sydney's new late-night hotspot. Did you take advantage of the extended hours last weekend, or planning to explore this Friday and Saturday?

🏡 Home of the Week 🏘

Each week (or thereabouts) we spotlight one interesting local listing — whether it’s jaw-droppingly luxe, a federation beauty, or full of fixer-upper charm. It’s a fun little peek into Inner West real estate — no judgment, just curiosity.

One of my favourite hobbies is looking at homes I’ll never be able to afford. If it’s yours too, you’re in the right place.

This architect designed, four-level waterfront masterpiece comes with 5 beds, 4 baths, a jetty, boatshed, pontoon, and panoramic views from Cockatoo Island to the Harbour Bridge. There's a lift, Tesla PowerWall, underfloor heating, smart home tech, and a 3m kitchen island made for hosting.

In my head, I’ve already moved in and I’m eating breakfast on the balcony and writing the Inner West Guide from that top-floor office.

Heritage-listed waterfront site with panoramic harbour views. Recently upgraded with new slides, monkey bars, rope climb, teepee and the beloved 'Dolphin rocker'. Includes picnic areas and basketball half court. The Fenwick has a takeaway kiosk and you can also walk up to Cafe Cornucopia. The East Village Hotel is just a little further up the road if you want to make a day of it. Toilets at nearby ferry wharf, limited parking available. Easy ferry access to Barangaroo and Circular Quay. The 442 bus can also get you to and from the wharf.
