We will reinstate the Keeping Kids Busy section next week, but you’ll find things to keep the kids entertained in the What’s Happening section.

Entries are now open for the Annual Glebe Art Show. Entries close 1 October or when capacity is reached. The opportunity is open to Inner West artists (artists must currently reside, work or study within Glebe, or within the City of Sydney or Inner West Council boundaries). ✍ Inner West Writers Group @ Marrickville Library: Spend your Saturday morning sharing your work with likeminded writing enthusiasts. Runs during school term. No bookings required. 10 AM to 12 PM, Fortnightly Saturdays.

📜 History Week: Annandale Foreshore Parkland Tour: This tour will highlight the Marking of Time of this area highlighting the overlapping layers of history with stories that will tease apart and weave together the complex history of this parkland by exploring the themes of reclamation, recreation, transportation, industrialisation, dereliction, revitalisation, urbanisation and naturalisation. 10 AM to 12 PM - Johnston Street, Annandale

🥳 Balmain School Fun Fair and Art Extravaganza: 2017 Archibald Prize Winner, Mitch Cairns has lent his expertise to curate the Balmain Public School bi-annual art extravaganza, which will feature award-winning art by some of Australia's most celebrated artists, including previous winners of the Archibald, Sulman, Brett Whiteley and Doug Moran Art prizes. The art will be open to the public for bidding in a silent auction. In addition to the art, families will be able to enjoy free entertainment, inflatables, carnival games, and arts and crafts. 10 AM to 3 PM - 1 Eaton St, Balmain

🗣 Adult Glee Clubs ‘Time To Shine’ @ Enmore Theatre: On Sunday 22 September the Adult Glee Club's 300-strong cast will perform hit songs from Billie Eilish to AC/DC in their most ambitious and heartfelt concert yet. Expect an unforgettable afternoon of music you know and love. The group spans 8 Glee Clubs across the Sydney Metro (including the Inner West) and Blue Mountains. Sunday 22 September, 3:30 PM. 🎨 Glebe Art Walk & Plein Air Painting: Paint, draw, or sketch 'en plein air' on the beautiful Glebe foreshore! The art walk is a free event and you can register on the day under the fig trees down on the water at the end of Glebe Point Road. Bring your own art supplies, easels, and a chair or rug. This is a great opportunity for anyone taking a wander along the foreshore to see artists at work. 10 AM to 4 PM - Glebe Foreshore, Chapman Rd, Annandale

🏉 AFLW: Sydney Swans v GWS Giants: The AFLW Sydney Derby III is here! Head to the hill at Henson as the Swans look for back-to-back finals berths and the GIANTS seek to out-muscle their crosstown rivals. 🗣 Opera in the Pub @ The Harold: Opera in a pub? You heard right! Join Opera Bites for “Singing for your Supper”. From milkmaids to magicians, princesses to pageboys, smugglers to servants, everyone in opera has a job – or at least they appear to (some characters only pretend to have a job or their ‘job’ is a front for some illegal activity – usually to get the girl). Come and join the fun as they explore who has what job in opera and what that means for the plot and the music. Early bookings recommended as they often sell out. Show starts at 7.30 PM.
