🛝 Park Picnic @ Glebe Foreshore: Start at Federal Park in Glebe. There is a playground and a skate park for the kids. Lots of green open space, toilets nearby, BBQ facilities & picnic tables. The walk along the foreshore towards Blackwattle Bay is lovely. You can also hop on the ferry at Blackwattle Bay Wharf and head to Barangaroo (worth a quick trip there and back for the views). Cafes can be found a short walk away from Federal Park at the Tramsheds, or opposite the Ferry Wharf. Accessible from the Light Rail, but street parking can be limited.

🥳 Broadway Mini's Launch Party: Celebrate Broadway Shopping Centres arrival of their new family program with face painting, balloons, activities & more! It’s two days of fun and creativity. Saturday 14 & Sunday 15 September. 10 AM - 12 PM.

🎨 Planning a kids party and need a Face Painter? Born to Glitter Face Painting brings the fun and glitter to parties and events in the Inner West. Not only have they got face painting covered, but they can also arrange glitter tattoos and balloon twisting for your next event. See more details here.

🫧 Bubble Show in Space @ Fringe Kids: Experience an array of bubble wonders, from smoke-filled and fire bubbles to giant arches and human-sized spheres. Witness launching bubble rockets, merging bubbles, and unique formations like shadow bubbles and bubble tornadoes. Runs until 7 October. Visit here for times and booking info. 🎶 All Ages Gig @ Marrickville: An electrifying day of music as All Age Music School presents LIVE & LOUD on Sunday 15 September at Sydney’s iconic live music venue, Lazybones Lounge. This unique event will unite the incredible talents of both kids and adults bands, alongside special guest performances from the passionate teachers of All Age Music School. 10:30 AM. 👶 Free Baby Sensory Classes @ Broadway: Bring your little minis for a fun, free baby sensory class! Facilitated by 'Mess It Up', their baby sensory classes are designed to engage your baby’s developing senses with stimulating activities, all while you relax and connect with other local parents. These book out fast, so get in early.

😎 For Older Kids

✨ Shoe Bedazzling @ Broadway: Add a sprinkle of FAB to your fave pair of sneakers or crocs this Spring at Broadway Shopping Centres Happy Hub creative space. Spend $100 or more at participating fashion or beauty retailers to be eligible. This one should be ok for older teens to participate in, but best to check with the centre first. Every Tuesday in September. 11 AM to 3 PM. T&C’s apply. See centre for details.

😵‍💫 Challenge the kids @Hijinx Hotel: Hijinx Hotel features sets of 5 challenge rooms for 2-6 players to collaborate and score points. These immersive rooms include ball pits, giant floor pianos, and unique designs. The venue also offers a restaurant and bar, providing a full day of fun and excitement. 🎞️ Sydney Underground Film Festival @ Dendy Newtown: The 18th annual SUFF returns to Dendy from Thursday 12 to Sunday 15 September 2024. The cinema will transform into a vibrant hub for intrepid film buffs with a series of screenings, talks and events celebrating the best of indie cinema. Check out the full schedule.

🌙 Darling Square Moon Festival: Celebrate the Moon Festival at Darling Square with a large-scale vibrant lanterns’ installation, illuminated lion dancers, free kids’ activities and delicious eats! Runs every night from 6 to 22 September. See full program here. 35 Tumbalong Boulevard, Haymarket

🚶Burwood Walking Group: The Burwood Walkers meet at Henley Park in Enfield on the grassed area on the northern side of the amenities block (near the play equipment) in Portland Street & they walk around the park (weather permitting). 🧶 Ashfield Knitters @ Ashfield Library: Get your knit on and BYO knitting to this casual group. Exchange tips and socialise whilst you knit. Runs the second and fourth Friday of each month. 9 AM to 12 PM - Level 3, 260 Liverpool Road, Ashfield

🌭 Get your democracy sausage @ your local school: Don’t forget to pick up a snag or hit the bake sale at your local school whilst you vote this Saturday. It’s an important fundraising event for all schools. It’s the perfect opportunity to pick up a guilt free tasty treat all for the good of local school kids!

🕯️ Artisans in the Park Spring Market @ Glebe: Artisans in the Park showcases local handmade products, supporting Australian creators and community organizations.
