This house, with a $10 million price guide, is hidden down a rear lane in Balmain East, but once you're inside it's all about the view. Floor-to-ceiling glass across the entire ground floor opens to harbour views stretching to Barangaroo, with a limestone terrace, lawn and pool taking up the whole outdoor space. Nina Maya designed the interiors with timber joinery, oak, marble and quartz throughout. Downstairs there's a lift, a gym, a games room, and a butler's kitchen. Upstairs, all four bedrooms have their own en-suites, including a master suite with an open-plan bathtub. Four-car garage accessed via the lane.

Chef Jeff Schroeter's Darling Glebe has opened at the historic Darling Mills site on Glebe Point Road. The subterranean brasserie features the Ferrari Martini Lounge (named for the stonemason who hand-carved the space), a French omakase chef's table on Wednesday and Thursday nights, and a wine cave housing 2,800 bottles. The menu includes oyster Rockefeller made from a revived 130-year-old recipe, snail pie and Schroeter's signature strawberry foie gras.

Open 5pm Wed–Sun, plus Friday lunch from noon.

Kick off Lunar New Year in style at Sydney Lunar Streets, lighting up Haymarket on Saturday 14 February from 5pm to 10pm. Part of the Sydney Lunar Festival and Sydney Streets program, this street party transforms Chinatown to Thaitown with lion dances, DJs, street food, markets and cultural performances. Look out for the striking fire horse installation rising above Dixon Street and wander beneath a glowing canopy of 12 lunar lanterns along Hay Street. With mahjong tables, a carousel, and festivities across multiple corners of Haymarket, it’s a great way to welcome the Year of the Horse in the heart of the city.
