Best Trick-or-Treat Streets by Suburb

Halloween keeps getting bigger across the Inner West, with some streets transforming into mini street festivals after dark.

🧟‍♂️ Annandale

North Annandale's Railway Parade, affectionately known as "Zombie Parade", remains one of the suburb's biggest Halloween draws. Families also make their way along Annandale Parade, Trafalgar Street, Nelson Street and Young Street, where neighbours go all out with decorations and treats.

🕸️ Ashbury

Hardy Street and the trio of First, Second and Third Streets light up each year with decorated homes and excited kids starting their rounds from 5 pm.

🕷️ Balmain / Balmain East

Phillip Street has become a favourite for families, with plenty of homes joining in on the fun. Nearby, the Nicholson Street Public School Halloween Festival (usually running the weekend before Halloween) turns the school grounds into a mini fair with rides, games and food stalls.

👻 Concord & Concord West

The heart of Halloween in Concord is the Halloween on Majors Bay Road street festival run by the local council. The road closes from 5 pm to 9 pm for trick-or-treat trails, face painting, roving performers, live music and games. Local shops hand out sweets and nearby Links Avenue, Merville Street and surrounding blocks join in with decorations and family crowds.

💀 Croydon Park

Balmoral Street is a favourite, known for fun Halloween displays and treats at the ready.

🧛 Drummoyne

Renwick Street is famous for its big street party, with homes really getting into the Halloween spirit. There is usually a DJ, sausage sizzle, face painting and more. Draws big crowds.

🧟 Dulwich Hill

Fairfowl Street, Pigott Street and Denison Road lead the way, with residents putting serious effort into decorations and handing out plenty of treats.

👻 Erskineville & Newtown

Pleasant Avenue in Erskineville is a great family-friendly spot for Halloween. Nearby streets toward Newtown also take part, so it's easy to make a loop of it.

🕸️ Glebe

Both sides of Hereford Street and the surrounding lanes get right into the Halloween spirit.

👹 Marrickville

Horton Street, called "Horror Street" by locals, goes all out with lights and spooky setups. The surrounding streets get involved too, making it one of the big Halloween spots in the Inner West.

🧙 Haberfield

Hawthorne Parade, Waratah Street, Turner Avenue, Barton Avenue, Dalhousie Street and Crescent Street are known for large-scale displays and hosts with bowls of lollies ready for trick-or-treaters.

💀 Leichhardt

Halloween energy centres on Charles Street, Carlisle Street, Marlborough Street, Macauley Street, Cromwell Street, Burfitt Street, Elswick Street and nearby Hill Street. Locals decorate heavily and create a safe, walkable circuit for kids.

🧚 Five Dock

Lancelot Street remains a crowd-pleaser with creative Halloween decorations and friendly residents handing out sweets.

👻 Russell Lea

Sibbick Street continues to be the suburb's Halloween focus, attracting families from neighbouring areas.

🎃 Rozelle

Darling Street blends decorated shopfronts along with homes joining in. It's perfect for younger kids and early evening trick or treating.

🧙‍♀️ Stanmore

Cavendish Street has long been known for its themed houses. Westbourne Street, Percival Road (Divide8 are ready for trick-or-treaters this year) and parts of Corunna Road are also strong choices for trick or treating.

🧛‍♀️ Petersham

The Petersham Bowlo hosts a free kids' Halloween party from 4:30 pm. The nearby streets (The Avenue, Searl Street and Brighton Street) are always buzzing with trick or treaters before dark.

🕯️ Summer Hill

Morris Street, Smith Street, and neighbouring blocks are reliably busy and close to the village hub.

💡 Trick or Treat Tip

The most popular streets can see hundreds of visitors. If you're heading out of your own neighbourhood, bring a small stash of extra lollies to help top up houses that run low. It keeps the fun and the community spirit alive for everyone.

A full day of family fun on the Balmain peninsula with music, food and spooky surprises for kids and parents alike. Highlights include: live music from Casey Burgess (former Hi-5 singer & talented musician), bouncy castles, delicious food and tasty treats, haunted house, giant inflatable slide, make incredible witchcraft potions to take home, and a Wizarding World inspired by Hogwarts.
